The North American Hardware and Paint Association (NHPA) is pleased to announce the 2022 Young Retailer of the Year honorees. Selected from a field of inspiring independent home improvement retailers under the age of 35 across North America, the eight honorees represent the future of the industry.
The honorees were recognized on April 4 at a reception as part of the NHPA All-Industry Conference and National Hardware Show (NHS) in Las Vegas. Retailers, vendors and wholesaler representatives were in attendance to celebrate this year’s honorees. Several former honorees also came to show their support for this latest group of high-achieving retailers.
“This is just the first night of many shining the light on our honorees in the next couple of months,” says Scott Wright, NHPA executive director of advanced training programs. “These are the industry’s best and brightest, and they continue to raise the bar with their leadership in their stores and communities. They are the bright future of our industry.”
Jade Haynie, general manager of Northwest Hardware in Billings, Montana, was one of the honorees in attendance at the reception and says he was humbled to be recognized as a Young Retailer of the Year.
“It was great to meet my fellow honorees and hear how each of us is making a difference in the industry,” Haynie says. “I also enjoyed getting to reconnect with other retailers I’ve developed relationships with through NHPA.”
