The National Hardware Show® has signed on to become the exclusive sponsor for the North American Retail Hardware Association (NRHA) 2015 State of Independents Conference, which will be held Dec. 10 at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare in Chicago.
This one-day conference is designed to bring together channel partners from across the home improvement industry to learn more about the current state of and future outlook for independent retailers.
“This event was a perfect fit for us,” says Rich Russo, vice president of the National Hardware Show. “The National Hardware Show is all about bringing together the entire industry and helping retailers and manufacturers alike expand their business horizons. The State of Independents Conference has the same goal.”
The State of Independents Conference is open to attendees from across the entire channel and the event is free for home improvement retailers to attend.
“One of our primary goals at the North American Retail Hardware Association is to serve as an advocate for independent home improvement retailers and that means making sure that the entire industry knows how this segment of the market is performing, how channel partners can do a better job working together with them and the kinds of challenges independent retailers face to grow,” NRHA vice president Dan Tratensek says.
During the conference, NRHA will share new, proprietary research about independent retailers, their views on channel relationships and the overall performance and outlook for the independent home improvement market.
The event will kick off with a joint presentation from NRHA and The Farnsworth Group, an Indianapolis-based market research firm. The presentation will focus on the current state of the industry. In addition, there will be two retail panels held during the conference to provide attendees with direct feedback from independent business operators.
“We are very excited that other influential industry organizations like the National Hardware Show and The Farnsworth Group will be helping us spread the word about the independent market segment,” Tratensek adds.
