The National Retail Federation (NRF) recently released its 2025 list of the Top 100 Retailers, compiled by Kantar. The list consists of the industry’s largest companies according to 2024 U.S. sales.
“This year’s Top 100 Retailers represent a diverse group of businesses that have adapted and evolved to a changing economic landscape,” says NRF executive director of research Mark Mathews. “As consumers evaluate their spending priorities, businesses are unlocking new ways to better connect with customers and retain loyalty.”
This year, multiple home improvement companies made the list, including:
- #5 The Home Depot ($148.21 billion)
- #9 Lowe’s Companies ($81.50 billion)
- #21 Ace Hardware ($26.56 billion)
- #32 Tractor Supply Co. ($14.88 billion)
- #37 Menards ($13.16 billion)
- #39 Sherwin-Williams ($12.21 billion)
- #57 Harbor Freight Tools ($7.60 billion)
- #70 True Value Co. ($6.16 billion)
“As with recent years, I would say you could take last year’s list and just flip it over for 2025,” says Kantar senior vice president of global insights and technology David Marcotte. “While the companies at the top of the list not only reflect those with the strongest retail sales, they are also a reflection of those that have remained nimble to a changing landscape from the impacts of trade policy and shifting consumer habits.”
