Lugbill Supply Center, located in Archbold, Ohio, has acquired Affiliated Lumber in Swanton, Ohio, expanding its operation to two locations in northwestern Ohio. Owner Isaac Weber recently received a Young Retailer of the Year award from the North American Hardware and Paint Association in recognition of his success with Lugbill Supply Center. This recent acquisition represents his commitment to providing high-quality lumber and building materials, home improvement products and comprehensive services to professional contractors and DIY customers.
Weber says he has a long-term plan to serve the northern Ohio and northeastern Indiana regions, and Affiliated Lumber fits into his growth strategy for several reasons.
“Their geographic location and dedication to customer service aligned with my vision and values, plus they have solid growth potential,” Weber says. “We’ve already established a synergy by sharing inventory to better serve our customers, and I’m excited about how our combined buying power will help grow our businesses. Many folks have a ‘small town, big price’ mindset, but that’s just not the case at Lugbill or Affiliated Lumber. We’re already priced to compete with big boxes, and we’re only going to become more competitive.”
Affiliated Lumber has been in business for over 70 years, providing quality lumber and building materials to pro contractors in northwest Ohio. Weber says home builders and home remodeling companies trusted president Tom Miller, general manager TW Churchill and their team to provide quality products and solutions-oriented customer service.
“I intend to honor that legacy by expanding their product selection and service territory,” Weber says. “I plan to retain all Affiliated Lumber associates. They have great employees who know their products and know how to take care of customers, and we’re already working really well together.”
Weber says this acquisition is the first step toward growing the Lugbill Supply Center business.
“Consolidation seems to be a focus across industries,” Weber says. “I’m open to additional acquisitions, but I’m also interested in new ground-up locations. Either way, my goal is to be a destination for both small-town communities and pro contractors. They shouldn’t have to drive 20-plus miles or to multiple locations to get what they need.”
