Lowe’s Opens Smaller-Store Format in Manhattan

According to an article by Market Watch, two Lowe’s stores are set to open in the second half of 2015 in Manhattan. While these locations will be about 30,000 square feet, they will “offer products and services that are locally relevant to customers, including appliances in a variety of sizes, home organization and storage products to maximize space.”

According to Richard Maltsbarger, Lowe’s chief development officer, the company wanted to move to the city, as they already have a large customer base. “We know customers in Manhattan are already shopping with Lowe’s online and at our New York area stores… we are developing these locations to meet the unique needs of these customers.”
