Koopman Lumber Announces CEO Transition

Koopman Lumber recently announced a planned CEO transition, with Denise Brookhouse assuming the role of chief executive officer on Jan. 1, 2026, succeeding Dirk Koopman, who has served as the company’s CEO since 2010.

“It has been an honor to serve as CEO and soon-to-be president, and I’m proud of what we’ve built together,” Dirk says. “Moving forward, Denise brings a fresh perspective and strong financial management experience, and she keeps our values and culture at the forefront. I couldn’t be more confident in her ability to lead Koopman into its next chapter and do right by our employees, customers and partners.”

Following the shift, Dirk will transition into the president’s role, a new strategic position within the company. Tony Brookhouse will remain in his role as chief operating officer.

“We believe the strength of Koopman comes from the collective expertise of our entire team,” Dirk says. “Every person here plays a part in shaping the future of our company. We are grateful for our incredible team and what we have accomplished together.”
