The 2019 U.S. Houzz & Home Study shows that the typical kitchen remodel costs $14,000, making kitchens the most expensive room to update in a home.
The data shows that nearly 90 percent of homeowners who completed or planned a remodeling project hired professionals, such as contractors or designers. Kitchen remodels were part of 30 percent of home renovations.
