2018 International Hardware Fair Explores Digital Opportunities

With just under three months before the 2018 EISENWARENMESSE International Hardware Fair (IHF) kicks off, retailers, manufacturers and industry leaders are gearing up for a world-class showcase of the latest products and industry insights.

More than 2,700 vendors will present their latest products at the event, which takes place every two years in Cologne, Germany. The 2018 IHF will begin March 4 inside Koelnmesse, the sixth-largest event space in the world. World-renowned manufacturers will preview their latest offerings across more than 15 million square feet of show floor, giving attendees unparalleled access to product innovations and technology advances.

IHF planners are focusing the two-day dSummit lecture series on the digital economy and how retailers can best compete with e-commerce giants. Informative dSummit lectures will help business owners understand the challenges online retailers pose, but also give advice on how small businesses can find opportunities and excel online.

Berlin-based material and technology agency Haute Innovation will present a special exhibition detailing the benefits 3-D printing capabilities offer hardware store, home improvement center and lumberyard retailers. According to Haute Innovation, 3-D printing can help business owners identity and manufacture parts that their customers need quickly, helping boost sales and pleasing consumers at the same time.

IHF’s Startup Village presents dynamic opportunities for new companies to network with well-known hardware and home improvement industry manufacturers, helping these startups make their product innovation dreams a reality.

The North American Retail Hardware Association (NRHA) will also be in attendance at IHF in 2018. Attending this international event gives the association the unique opportunity to educate, advocate and associate for its members on an international platform. For more information, contact Dan Tratensek, NRHA executive vice president and publisher of Hardware Retailing.

Registration is still open to retailers from around the world. Visit IHF online to take advantage of special advance rates and get a global glimpse of upcoming product innovations.
