With hot deals, new vendors and a chance to connect with fellow dealers, the House-Hasson Summer Spark 2022 Dealer Market convened in Sevierville, Tennessee, on June 9-11. During the event, House-Hasson dealers met new vendors and discovered new products to add to and improve on their existing product mixes and increase transaction sizes.
Attendees learned more about marketing and store service solutions that House-Hasson offers and shopped deals from vendors, who were also offering appealing payment terms on drop shipments and warehouse orders.
“The focus of this market had the same goals as all of our dealer markets—procure the best deals and products for our dealers to help their profitability,” says Taylor Hasson, vice president of marketing for House-Hasson. “We have several new vendors this year who have brought some exciting products.”
House-Hasson vice president of sales Pat McCutcheon says that this summer show was the ideal time to lock-in excellent pricing for products dealers might not need now but will down the road.
“Now is the best time to buy ahead to get the best price. We don’t know what’s ahead and what will happen in the market, so we really try to emphasize to our dealers that this is their best opportunity for the best price,” he says. “Everything we do is to make sure the dealers are getting the maximum discount so they can achieve the highest margins.”
“The January market is typically the biggest show, but this show right now is rivaling that one,” McCutcheon says. “Our attendance was phenomenal. We oversold the hotel twice, only had two cancellations before the store and the show floor was busy. That tells us our people did a great job promoting the event and dealers are participating.”
Attendees also networked with dealers from around the country and had the chance to win exciting prizes and giveaways.
Danny Wells, owner of Nettleton Hardware in Nettleton, Mississippi, says he was excited to be at the show for a chance to get away with his family and shop the market deals.
Andy Gates, was also on the hunt for show deals and appreciated having the chance to see new products and meet new vendors. He owns a Handy Andy in Rougemont, North Carolina, which includes a convenience store with 10 gas pumps and a hardware store.
“The House-Hasson Dealer Market is a great place to see what’s new and different in products,” he says. “I also like to see what’s new when it comes to technology; there’s a lot of great technology on the convenience store side, so I like to see what’s new in home improvement.”
Traveling from the Bahamas, Haley Staples and her husband own Darville Lumber in Exuma, Bahamas. Their operation has been a part of House-Hasson for over 20 years, and they enjoy attending the show to find new products and take advantage of the market deals.
“I found some great deals just a few hours into the show,” Staples says. “It takes us the full two days to see everything, but when we leave, we leave with a ton of orders for our stores.”
The next House-Hasson Dealer Market, 4th Quarter Finale, will take place October 3-7 and will be held virtually.
