Retailers shopped deals, networked with other attendees and made valuable connections at the House-Hasson Spring Dealer Market in Nashville, Tennessee, despite the shortened two-day winter weather timeline. Originally scheduled from Jan. 22-24, 2026, the House-Hasson team made the decision to cut the market short by one day due to widespread snow and ice in the forecast.
The market hosted a lineup of over 600 vendors and hundreds of attendees on the show floor, which opened on Thursday afternoon. Buyers shopped top deals, connected with fellow retailers and had opportunities to attend two seminars focused on strengthening their store’s online presence.
Condensing the market into two days was no small feat, but with a plan in place, House-Hasson CEO Steve Henry says his team pivoted to create the best experience possible for attendees.
“When we learned what the forecast was, we started to pivot,” Henry says. “We said, ‘We have to have a plan B, and we have to be ready to roll it out.’ It’s a lot of work to get everything moved up into two days, but we pulled it off and have seen a good number of attendees.”
Friday morning began with a Bonus Buys Breakfast where Henry gave a welcome address and Pat McCutcheon, vice president of sales at House-Hasson, shared the updated schedule for the final day of the market. McCutcheon also outlined the deals that could be found on the show floor, ensuring guests understood the updated schedule and format.
“Everything is just a little different, all because it’s in one day,” McCutcheon says.
Vendors and store owners were informed of the change in schedule the day before the show floor opened, allowing attendees to shift plans if needed. Many buyers packed their purchasing time in on Thursday, ahead of the forecasted winter storm. By Friday morning, Henry predicted vendors had sold around two thirds of their orders.
“For many vendors, 60% of their total orders were done in four hours on Thursday,” he says. “There’s a sense of urgency here, so that’s a good thing.”
The House-Hasson team worked to ensure everyone at the market could secure the deals and networking they came
for while also getting home safely.
“The way we adapted just proves how strong our team is and how committed we are,” Henry says. “Our message has always been that we want to create and maintain relationships with our dealers and our vendors. Everybody dove in to make the market a success this weekend. It makes you proud of your folks, of your people and your staff.”
House-Hasson has traditionally held three markets per year but switched to just two markets this year, held in January and October. Henry says the change was made in consideration of the time it takes for store owners, vendors and the House-Hasson team to come to a market.
“Taking two or three employees, or even one, out of a store for three or four days to come to a show can be a challenge, and it’s also hard for us,” Henry says. “We’ve been listening to our dealers, and we feel like that’s what they would like for us to do.”
The next House-Hasson Dealer Market will take place at the Sevierville Convention Center in Sevierville, Tennessee, from Aug. 6-8, 2026.
