House-Hasson 2025 Fall Market Gives Dealers Competitive Edge

In a retail environment that is challenging and ever-changing, independent home improvement retailers are looking for any competitive advantages they can to gain market share, protect margins and bring in new customers. At the 2025 Fall Dealer Market, which took place Oct. 23-25, House-Hasson retailers shopped deals and shared best practices with fellow dealers, all with the aim of differentiating their operations and finding those competitive advantages.

A golf outing kicked off the event on Thursday morning, followed by the show floor opening that evening for sneak peeks at the deals vendors were offering and a chance to connect with fellow retailers over drinks and appetizers. During the Friday morning Breakfast Buys event, House-Hasson president and CEO Steve Henry welcomed the crowd and reminded them to take advantage of all of the House-Hasson staff members on hand at the show.

“If you have a problem or any issues you want to address, look for our House-Hasson employees or find me and I’ll get you with the right folks,” Henry says. “We have every department represented here, and we are ready and able to help you.”

Pat McCutcheon, vice president of sales at House-Hasson, shared the biggest deals attendees could find on the show floor and also expressed his and the company’s appreciation for retailers attending the market.

“You left your stores this week to be with us, and we appreciate your time,” McCutcheon says. “Because we value your time, we’ve made every effort to bring in the vendors and the deals that will help you. Everything at the show is designed for you to save money and use the discounts to improve margin.”

In July, House-Hasson brought on Matthew Patti as vice president of purchasing, and McCutcheon says he has done an excellent job of building relationships with vendors to best serve dealers.

“We’re trying to flood more product out to the dealers and be quicker and more responsive to what’s new and what will be best for our dealers,” McCutcheon says.

Dealers had the opportunity to meet with various House-Hasson service providers, including the marketing booth where they could learn more about House-Hasson’s  mapping and demographics reports, the New Mover program, AdStudio for creating and sharing flyers and coupons, social media starters and in-store signage kits. Other House-Hasson service providers on hand included Retail Store Services, Advertising, IT Services, LBM Services, Store Programs and Store Remodels and Resets.

During the market, North American Hardware and Paint Association editor and director of content development Lindsey Thompson presented Henry with a plaque, honoring and recognizing his years of service and dedication to the independent channel. Henry will retire from House-Hasson at the end of this year.

“I’m looking forward to be able to guide whoever’s next before I head out,” Henry says. “We have a long legacy of service to our dealers, and I’m looking forward to the next president carrying that legacy on.”

The next House-Hasson Dealer Market will take place at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee, from Jan. 22-24, 2026.
