Home Hardware’s Dale MacPherson Honored With Supply Build Canada Industry Achievement Award

Home Hardware Stores Limited has named Dale MacPherson as the recipient of the 2025 Supply Build Canada Industry Achievement Award, recognizing his more than 52 years of leadership and service to Home Hardware and Canada’s home improvement industry.

The Supply Build Canada Industry Achievement Award honors individuals whose leadership, integrity and dedication have helped strengthen the industry and support independent businesses across the country. It recognizes long-term impact, mentorship and a commitment to advancing professional standards within the building supply sector.

“Dale’s leadership has made, and continues to make a profound impact on Home Hardware, our dealers and the broader industry,” says John Pierce, chief retail operations officer, Home Hardware Stores Limited. “For more than five decades, he has championed independent business owners, guided our organization through periods of change and led with integrity, empathy and a people-first approach.”

MacPherson’s career with Home Hardware began in 1974 in the St. Jacobs Distribution Center as a summer student, where he was mentored by co-founder Walter Hachborn. He went on to hold a variety of operational and leadership roles, including 16 years in Alberta as an area manager working directly with dealer-owners, before returning to St. Jacobs to join the senior leadership team. Today, he serves as senior director, store operations and business development, overseeing real estate, business development, capital ventures and corporate retail stores.

Throughout his career, MacPherson has helped guide Home Hardware through major acquisitions, the COVID-19 pandemic and significant transformations. He remains deeply engaged in advancing strategic initiatives that support dealers and position Home Hardware for continued success.
