Home Hardware Stores Ltd. has announced that plans are underway to host an in-person 2022 Fall Market. The event is scheduled to take place from September 23-25 at the Enercare Centre in Toronto, Ontario.
“As public health measures ease across the country, Home Hardware is planning a reunion event that will bring our dealers, team members and suppliers back together in a unique and exciting way this fall,” says Kevin Macnab, president and CEO of Home Hardware Stores Ltd. “The health and safety of the entire team is always our priority, and we are hopeful the timing will be right to host a newly designed and reimagined in-person market this September.”
Over the past two years, Home Hardware has been hosting virtual markets for dealer-owners and suppliers, demonstrating an ability to unite, adapt and innovate in an ever-changing climate. As Home Hardware prepares to return to an in-person market, it will continue to monitor the COVID-19 environment and adapt its plans to meet all public health regulations.
“Our markets have always been much more than trade shows—they are an opportunity to build friendships, share ideas and create deep connections across our dealer network and with our suppliers,” says Rob Wallace, vice-president of retail operations for Home Hardware Stores Ltd. “The special event we are planning for fall 2022 will support those key market traditions while also providing dealers with the best opportunity to develop a strategic buying plan that drives growth and profitability for their stores.”
Home Hardware’s markets are an important part of the company’s history and culture and as they have evolved, so too have their locations. The first market was held in September 1963 at the arena in Elmira, Ontario, and as attendance grew, the market was moved to larger facilities including Wilfrid Laurier University and Bingeman’s Conference Centre.
Since 1979, bi-annual markets have been held in Home Hardware’s distribution center in St. Jacobs, Ontario. Due to growth and increased needs of the event, Home Hardware’s 2022 Fall Market will take place at the Enercare Centre in Toronto, Ontario.
