Independent hardware retailers are well-positioned for growth and profitability, according to the 2019 keynote speaker for the National Hardware Show®. In a presentation titled “Unlocking True Value,” John Hartmann, president and CEO of the True Value Company, will discuss the rapidly changing hardware industry. His presentation will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, on the North American Retail Hardware Association (NRHA) Village Stage, immediately following the opening ceremony.
With 25 years of senior-level corporate experience, Hartmann, who joined True Value in 2013, led the company through a change in business structure last spring to return its members’ equity, allowing retailers to invest in their businesses as they know best. This move also established True Value as the only hardlines wholesale distributor with a global brand and no stock requirement.
Hartmann’s extensive experience is expected to inspire exciting conversation between retailers and manufacturers about the ever-changing hardware and home landscape, says Rich Russo, vice president for the National Hardware Show.
