Do it Best Teams Up With Paint Sundries Solutions

Do it Best Corp. has formed an exclusive strategic partnership with Paint Sundries Solutions (PSS), a national paint sundry supplier.

The new partnership will provide Do it Best members additional opportunities to grow their paint departments with greater access to PSS’s customized retailer solutions, merchandising design services and broad product selection, according to the co-op.

“This partnership strengthens our position as the first and best choice for independent retailers by providing them with access to additional products and solutions to grow their business in their paint departments,” says Steve Markley, vice president of merchandising for Do it Best. “We know our members can lead the market in the paint category, and this partnership provides another option to support that vision. We are excited to partner and collaborate with the PSS team to serve our members even better.”

PSS is based in Seattle and is a supplier of paint category products serving independent retailers across the country. Founded in 1958, PSS stocks and distributes more than 10,000 products from its five distribution centers across the U.S.

“We are incredibly excited about this strategic partnership with Do it Best Corp. and in expanding our role in helping their members grow in this important category,” says Andrew Walsh, president and chief operating officer of PSS. “Leveraging the strengths of both organizations, this partnership will help Do it Best members lead with paint.”

The PSS partnership is the latest in a number of investments and enhancements in the paint category by Do it Best. In 2016, the co-op launched upgraded color selectors and new paint labels. In 2017, the co-op debuted The Color Bar, a store-within-a-store merchandising solution for members with paint departments.

Based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Do it Best Corp. is a member-owned, comprehensive hardware, lumber and building materials buying cooperative. Do it Best has annual sales surpassing $3 billion and serves thousands of member-owned locations across the U.S. and in more than 50 other countries.
