Do it Best Corp. has announced a joint venture with Nation’s Best Holdings, a growing family of 10 locally branded home improvement stores operated across three states by Do it Best member-owner Chris Miller.
“In the highly competitive home improvement business environment, growth is an absolute imperative,” says Do it Best president and CEO Dan Starr. “We are committed to fueling growth in ways that drive sales today and position the cooperative for sustained growth over the long term. To continue that momentum, Do it Best entered into a joint venture with Nation’s Best Holdings.”
This partnership represents another step forward for the co-op as it strengthens its position in the independent home improvement channel. The investment in Nation’s Best Holdings aligns Do it Best with a retailer committed to building a nationwide network of independent stores.
“This is the right move for us as we work to solidify our position as the only full-service wholesale distributor. As this opportunity developed, we received unanimous and enthusiastic support from the Do it Best board of directors,” says Starr.
Nation’s Best Holdings is led by Miller, an industry veteran.
“From my many years at Parker’s Building Supply, I experienced the Do it Best commitment to help members grow,” says Miller. “We were able to successfully expand our hardware and lumber businesses in Texas and California back then, and I know Do it Best is my first and best choice partner today to help us grow Nation’s Best.”
Miller is focused on building a premier hardlines and LBM business by acquiring outstanding hardware and lumber businesses throughout the U.S., regardless of current wholesaler affiliation.
Based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Do it Best Corp. is the only U.S.-based, member-owned comprehensive and fully integrated hardware, lumber and building materials buying cooperative in the home improvement industry. With annual sales nearing $4 billion, Do it Best Corp. serves thousands of member-owned locations across the U.S. and in more than 50 other countries.
