Do it Best Awards Training Scholarship to Idaho Retailer

Do it Best Corp. president and CEO Dan Starr was on hand to present an Idaho retailer with a scholarship to the North American Retail Hardware Association (NRHA) Retail Management Certification Program.

Do it Best provided Andrew Brubaker from Pro X Home Center in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, with $6,250 to attend the fall 2016 management training course.  The scholarship covers half the cost of program tuition.

NRHA’s home improvement industry-focused Retail Management Certification Program (RMCP) is a college-level course designed to train future retail leaders in advanced retail management and leadership concepts and skills to help them advance their careers.

“We’re delighted that Do it Best Corp. provided this scholarship for Andrew to attend the fall 2016 RMCP class,” says Scott Wright, executive director of NRHA’s Retail Leadership Institute, which launched the management training program in 2013. “This is just one of the many ways Do it Best Corp. continues to support the growth of their members, as well as the industry.”

While participating in the program, students learn from their peers in classroom settings, receive individual business coaching and initiate a major business improvement project to help provide their businesses with returns on investment for attending the course.

“I am excited about attending this course,” Andrew Brubaker says. “I look forward to working with other retailers and acquiring some new retailing strategies. After completing the course, I hope to have a better knowledge of successful business management. I have learned a lot in my current retail position and anticipate taking my knowledge to higher level.”
