President and CEO Dan Starr of Do it Best Hardware Corp. announced Monday the company’s commitment to substantially increasing store sales, customer counts and traffic through a more highly focused and expanded e-commerce team, led by a new vice president of e-commerce Nick Talarico, effective immediately.
“We have been actively helping our members grow their businesses for years by expanding locations, adding new ones and acquiring others,” says Starr. “We also want to take steps to ensure that they remain positioned to capture the growth that can come with e-commerce.”
Starr noted the exponential growth of BOPIS, or buy online pick up in-store, as a key focus area for the team.
Talarico, who previously served as the co-op’s vice president of sales and business development, will lead a dedicated team.
“He will leverage his extensive experience in leading sales-driving initiatives and change management, bolstered by his ability to assemble and lead high-performing teams, to work across our company and with our members to get things done,” says Starr. “Enhanced e-commerce success will require many things. I’m confident that Nick and his team will address these needs and move us well down the path of e-commerce excellence.”
