All independent retailers are invited to attend the Independent Garden Center Show (IGC) Aug. 13-15 at McCormick Place in Chicago. There will be three other events co-locating at IGC this year: the Independent Home Improvement Show–Powered by the National Hardware Show, the NRHA STIHL Foundations of Leadership Conference and the State of Independents Midyear Review, hosted by the North American Retail Hardware Association.
The NRHA events will be held on the first two days of IGC, right on the show floor. The NRHA STIHL Foundations of Leadership Conference brings together graduates of the NRHA Retail Leadership Institute, and this year, the conference is open to all independent retailers.
“The NRHA STIHL Foundations of Leadership Conference is a great chance to meet retailers who are dedicated to continuing education and developing operational leaders,” says Scott Wright, executive director of the Retail Leadership Institute. “We’re excited to co-locate this year’s conference at IGC because it allows so many new connections.”
NRHA will also host the State of Independents Midyear Review at the event, which is an offshoot of the annual State of Independents Conference, held in December. The event will showcase new data reflecting how independent operations are performing at the year’s midpoint, giving them time to implement actionable takeaways before the year’s end.
“The State of Independents Midyear Review gives retailers and manufacturers a chance to do a checkup on their performance to see if they are on trend with the rest of the industry,” says NRHA executive vice president and Hardware Retailing publisher Dan Tratensek. “This event will give attendees insights that they can take back to their operations and make any course corrections based on the data we provide.”
