From fueling Blackhawks in the Army National Guard to leading sales and estimating at Tri-County Lumber, Carson Velaski brings a military-honed sense of discipline, organization and drive to the independent channel.
Velaski joined the military in 2013, motivated by a desire to serve his country, gain discipline and travel the world. He served in the Army National Guard from 2013 to 2019 as a 91B wheeled vehicle mechanic, assisting with fueling Blackhawk helicopters at his unit, C-Co 2-211.
“My favorite parts of serving were meeting people from across the country, traveling to Germany and feeling a sense of pride in serving my country,” he says.
After his time in service, Velaski began working at Tri-County Lumber in Clearwater, Minnesota. Today, he is the director of sales and estimating at the company, a role he gained through hard work and his dedicated mindset, skills he refined in the military.
“The military instilled a sense of pride and discipline in me, which I carry with me to my job,” Velaski says. “I bring organization, standardized processes and drive to get the job done. I think military veterans generally all have an internal drive to be successful, organized and independent while also working well in a team environment.”
As a newer director in the company, Velaski says he is looking forward to working with the Tri-County Lumber team to better the company as a whole.
“I’m looking forward to making company-wide decisions collaboratively with the team,” he says.
