Demand for Fencing on the Rise

With the uptick in housing starts and remodeling, the demand for fencing is increasing. According to a recent Freedonia Group press release, “Demand for fencing in the U.S. is forecast to expand 7 percent per year to $9 billion in 2018, totaling 875 linear feet.”

High-value fencing materials, like ornamental metal, are in demand. Plastic and composite fencing are also two materials consumers are looking to purchase. The press release adds, “Concrete fencing demand will be boosted by increasing consumer interest in durable yet attractive privacy fencing.” Plastic and composite fencing is expected to grow in demand due to their durability compared to wood fencing.
