Ned Green and his wife Lisa Green, current owners of Weider’s Paint & Hardware, along with their children Mitch and Mikayla, have taken up the banner for the Weider family name. They are honoring founder John A. Weider’s same commitment to “give them what they want” in the operations three locations in Brighton, Honeoye Falls and Perinton, New York.
The operation’s location in Perinton underwent major renovations several years ago before it opened. During the renovations, the Greens added some thoughtful, unique touches, including the hammer door handles adorning the front doors. The front of the doors feature two hammers customers pull on to enter the store, and the back of the doors include two sledgehammers.
Throughout the store are pieces of the operation’s 140-plus-year history, including old tools and antique signs.
“There is a lot of history here, and it’s an honor to be a part of that legacy,” Ned says. “I love it when customers bring in newspaper articles or memorabilia from the last 140-some years and we even have a couple of employees who are distant relatives of the previous owners.”
