Jonathan Mize, CEO of home improvement supply distributor Blish-Mize, has been recognized as a notable Kansas businessman. Kansas City business magazine Ingram’s named Mize to its 2015 list of 50 Kansans You Should Know.
Blish-Mize is a member of the Distribution America buying group and is headquartered in Atchison, Kansas.
“When the family business survives for four generations, it’s not hard to envision how Generation Five will earn a living. For Jonathan Mize, being able to do that in Atchison is a particular blessing,” Ingram’s says.
Blish-Mize has “been around for so many years because we are honest, fair and take care of our customers unlike any other distributor,” Mize tells the magazine. “Having my family directly involved in the business over these many years has helped prolong our success.”
Ingram’s annual honorees are “always a group of highly accomplished individuals, and from all walks of life—business, education, nonprofits, cultural, artistic and sporting venues, and many more avenues,” according to the magazine. “In short, each year’s installment is meant to be a cross-section of life in Kansas, told through the stories of the people who make this great state tick.”
