After a December settlement, the Aubuchon Company, the largest and oldest family-owned collection of hardware stores in America, will acquire Anco Ace Hardware in Villas, New Jersey. Owners Liz and Jan Rupinski will keep the “Anco Ace Hardware” name on their storefront.
“Running Anco Ace has been more than a business for us; it has been our way of making a difference in our community,” Liz says. She attributes the store’s success to the Villas community and her store associates. Jan notes Aubuchon’s rich heritage and commitment to serving others is “the perfect steward to take Anco Ace into the future.”
The sale to Aubuchon was a hopeful experience for the Rupinski’s.
“In a few short months, we felt a great business bond formed between us and the Aubuchon team. Always positive and extremely fair and never waiting to have a question or concern addressed. Answers are always clear and concise,” Jan says.
Liz and Jan opened the doors to Anco Ace Hardware in 1982 but the store’s roots were planted in the late 1950’s when Charles and Ann Rupinski and their five children installed blinds, doors and aluminum windows on the property in Villas, New Jersey. Anco has served as a community linchpin over its years of operation. The store’s employees offer friendly service and extensive product knowledge, and customers are treated like family when they walk through the door.
The Aubuchon Company, now in its fourth generation, will manage 124 stores across the U.S. following their purchase of Anco.
