Ace Hardware has announced a second big-box home improvement executive hire this week, recruiting Lisa Doyle from Lowe’s to serve as its new head of retail training.
Doyle previously was vice president of learning and development at Lowe’s, according to a June 22 statement from Ace.
The cooperative previously announced the hire of former Home Depot executive John Sommers Jr. on June 19. Sommers replaces Frank Carroll as Ace’s vice president of merchandising.
Doyle will report to Brian Wiborg, vice president of marketing, retail training and store operations.
“We are thrilled to welcome Lisa to the Ace Hardware management team,” Wiborg says. “Lisa will lead all aspects of how we train, develop and motivate more than 100,000 Ace store associates throughout the world, to ensure we consistently deliver our brand promise to be the most helpful hardware stores on the planet.”
Doyle’s prior career experience includes work for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as chancellor of the Veterans Affairs Acquisition Academy, which offers professional school programs in areas such as supply chain management and and facilities management.
