Ace Hardware Names Benjamin Moore Its Preferred Paint Supplier

Ace Hardware Corp. and Benjamin Moore have announced an expanded relationship that will make Benjamin Moore paints more widely available to DIY customers through locally owned Ace Hardware stores.

The co-op has named the paint manufacturer its preferred paint supplier and will offer an assortment of its paints to participating Ace stores in the U.S. by spring 2020.

“Expanding our relationship with Ace furthers our legacy commitment to the independent retail channel, while broadening access to Benjamin Moore for paint customers,” says Dan Calkins, chairman and CEO.

The paint manufacturer will increase its footprint in Ace Hardware stores and make its products available through an exclusive warehouse distribution program, according to Ace. This model will enable independently owned and operated Ace Hardware stores to carry an assortment of premium interior and exterior Benjamin Moore paints.

The paint company will also assume responsibility for manufacturing Ace Hardware’s private label paint brands.

“Our expanded relationship with Benjamin Moore reinforces our commitment to provide the highest quality brands, that can’t be found in discount stores or websites, to our customers while further strengthening our independent retailers,” says John Surane, Ace Hardware’s executive vice president, chief merchandising and sales officer. “We will continue to listen to our customers to ensure we offer the services they need and the products they want from brands who share our commitment to highest quality products, superior service and unrivaled retail convenience.”

Benjamin Moore is headquartered in Montvale, New Jersey. Its paints are available exclusively through locally owned and operated paint and decorating retailers.

Ace Hardware is headquartered in Oak Brook, Illinois, and serves more than 5,200 locally owned and operated hardware stores in approximately 70 countries.
