Do it Best Corp., will be sponsoring two scholarships to help Do it Best member-owners participate in NRHA’s Retail Management Certification Program. The program is an in-depth, college level leadership and management program designed to teach retailers’ key, high-potential employees what they need to know to become future leaders in their respective organizations.

NRHA Retail Management Students Develop Network of Peers

Students attending the Fall 2014 class of NRHA’s Retail Management Certification Program met at NRHA headquarters and Butler University last week for the second of three visits they will make to Indianapolis during the course of the program. In addition to a learning experience that “follows students back to work,” participants are also developing a peer network of other high-potential retailers attending the class- connections that will last throughout their careers.

Spring 2013 program graduate Willow Yoder, general manager of Greenwood Hardware in Seattle, says, “Through the years, we will be able to continue networking with all of the stores that have been a part of this class and continue to learn from each other.”

In addition to developing a network of peers, as part of the course, students develop key leadership and retail management skills, complete a major business improvement project and receive one-on-one business coaching. Created in conjunction with Butler University, NRHA’s Retail Management Certification Program is currently enrolling for the Spring 2015 class that begins in February.
