Gow’s Home Hardware in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, recently announced it has partnered with furniture and mattress store, The Brick, expanding the store’s furniture and appliance space.
The Brick will open inside Gow’s Home Hardware in spring 2026. The company saw the partnership as a way to evolve, says Amanda Fancy, dealer-owner of Gow’s Home Hardware.
“Our Home Hardware hardlines business is strong and thriving, and we wanted to ensure we remained competitive and future-focused in furniture, mattresses, appliances and home electronics,” Fancy says. “Partnering with The Brick allows us to expand our assortment and buying power while continuing to operate locally and independently.”
Gow’s Home Hardware will keep its local team of employees as the two companies merge under one roof. The Brick will operate as a franchise within the existing furniture and appliance footprint at the Bridgewater location. Customers can expect a seamless transition.
“Customers will still be working with the same trusted local team, in the same location, with the same service standards they’ve come to expect from Gow’s,” Fancy says. “Operationally, this allows each brand to do what it does best.”
The store will offer a significantly expanded range of furniture, mattresses, appliances and home electronics, with further details expected to be announced later this spring.
“What will not change is who we are,” Fancy says. “Gow’s remains locally owned and operated. The same trusted team will be here. The same service standards will be here. The same commitment to the South Shore will be here. This partnership builds on our foundation rather than replacing it. It combines The Brick’s national strength with our generations-long commitment to service and community, giving customers more choice and value while preserving the experience they’ve always trusted.”
