FastQuery Brings On Business Development Expert

Combining AI chat, task management and operations analytics—tied directly to a retailers POS inventory—FastQuery is an AI copilot built for independent home improvement retailers. FastQuery helps store associates quickly find product information like aisle numbers, price and comparable items using voice commands and manages and routes tasks automatically, reducing the time employees spend searching for information, enabling them to assist more customers and improve efficiency.

Joe Bullock

Company founder Anton Kulikalov recently brought on Joe Bullock to oversee business development. With strong communication and relationship-building skills, Kulikalov says Bullock listens closely, asks sharp questions and explains what FastQuery does in clear language that makes sense to owners, operators and partners.

“While I am focused on writing code and testing ideas with front-line users and turning those into product, Joe makes sure that value is understood, adopted and championed across the organization,” Kulikalov says.

Kulikalov also values the structure Bullock brings to the company and his ability to build systems around customer success, onboarding and partnerships so FastQuery’s best practices are repeatable and scalable. He also brings energy, empathy for retailers and genuine enthusiasm for the industry.

“Joe helps turn a clear product vision into real, long-term growth. He designs high-touch onboarding, keeps a close feedback loop with customers, and makes sure they get full value from FastQuery so accounts grow over time,” Kulikalov says. “He also expands our reach, telling our story to more retailers and industry leaders, and he builds partnerships and integrations with the tools our customers already use, like inventory systems, robotics and e-commerce platforms. Joe’s focus on communication, relationships and go-to-market execution are a big part of how we will grow FastQuery in the years ahead.”

After spending seven years doing technology services in the oil and gas industry, Bullock moved to San Francisco in 2014, working mostly with large tech firms like Salesforce, Airbnb, Google and several mid-market software companies in business development, customer success and strategic partnerships roles. In mid-2025, a mutual friend introduced Bullock to Kulikalov and he started doing some advisory work for FastQuery.

“Anton had a few customers at the time and was trying to get a bit more disciplined with value proposition refinement and growth strategy,” Bullock says. “I’ve been involved with a lot of software companies over the years and was really impressed initially just by the early version of FastQuery and Anton’s vision for what he could build.”

Growing up, Bullock says he has fond memories of going to the hardware store with his father on the weekends, and his current love for home improvement projects drew him to FastQuery and the work it is doing with independent home improvement retailers.

“Before I agreed to come on full time, I spent a lot of time connecting with existing customers and industry folks, and I really enjoyed the people I was meeting and the enthusiasm around what Anton was doing with FastQuery,” Bullock says. “It felt like the perfect intersection—an industry I’ve always loved, cool new technology and really great people.  The more people I meet and the more Anton and I have refined and validated our product strategy, the more convinced I am that this was absolutely the right move.

Bullock’s goals for FastQuery include leveling up customer engagement, going high-touch with onboarding, adoption and enablement and making absolutely sure that every customer is getting max value from their FastQuery investment.

“We’ve made some great progress already, but we can absolutely do more and do better,” he says. “I’m obsessed with customer success and this will continue to be a huge focus. I’ll drop anything to help our customers out, always.”

Another goal for Bullock is continuing the positive growth trajectory that Kulikalov has started, which he is working to accomplish by meeting new people, telling the FastQuery story and growing awareness.

“Partnerships are really coming into focus as a huge opportunity as well, and we’re building integrations with inventory management tools, robotics companies and e-commerce platforms,” Bullock says. “I’m heavily focused on building alignment with partners and continuing to expand both the market opportunity and the value that we deliver with FastQuery. I love that what we’re doing is really, really fun. I intend to focus on keeping it that way.”
