Total U.S. retail sales were up in 25 states and the District of Columbia from June 2024 to June 2025, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s Monthly State Retail Sales report.
Hawaii saw the most year-over-year growth (18.1%), followed by Nevada (8.9%), North Dakota (5.1%), Arkansas (4.9%) and Wisconsin (4.9%). Oregon saw the least amount of growth over the year (1.1%) while Alaska reported a decrease in retail sales (-1.8%).
Overall, total U.S. retail sales excluding nonstore retailers in June 2025 were up 3% from June 2024. This growth follows another strong period of state-by-state growth in May 2025.
