Hancock Lumber recently announced the appointment of two seventh-generation owners as official board members of the company. Chairman and sixth-generation owner, Kevin Hancock welcomed daughters, Abby (Hancock) Doherty and Sydney (Hancock) Hillman to the board with five additional outside directors.
Currently a senior account executive at Datadog, Abby brings previous experience in managing complex accounts, securing new businesses and working with high-profile clients to achieve solutions.
“It’s hard to put into words what being connected to the Hancock Lumber team has meant and continues to mean to me,” she says. “I’m so proud to support a company that leads with purpose, puts people first, and continues to evolve while staying true to its roots. As a seventh-generation member of the Hancock family, I have a deep commitment and appreciation for our company’s culture and legacy—I am honored to contribute to our future through board service.”
Sydney brings experience in television production, content marketing and live event hosting, most recently serving as an on-air host and producer for Maine Live on News Center Maine.
“Growing up alongside Hancock Lumber has been the most incredible blessing in my life,” Sydney says. “I am so inspired by the employees and people who call Hancock Lumber home and who continue to grow our business to what it is today. To be joining the Board of Directors alongside some of the most inspiring, accomplished and humble professionals is an extreme honor and I am so excited to continue to support our family business, invest in our employees and positively contribute to our communities!”
