84 Lumber Opens New Truss Plant

84 Lumber announced it has added a new 75,000-square-foot truss plant in Northwood, Ohio.

“This new truss plant allows us to better serve the customers in the Detroit and Toledo markets, and adds to our capacity in the surrounding areas,” says Phil Garuccio, 84 Lumber’s central divisional vice president. “It gives us the ability to be more competitive and improve build cycle times for our customers.”

The new plant will serve northwestern Ohio, northeastern Indiana and southeastern Michigan, primarily focusing on the Detroit area. Employees will build wall panels, roof trusses and floor trusses at the plant that sits on 11 acres, with operations beginning this month.
