New Resources for Hiring

hiring resources

Quality employees can be hard to find, especially in a job market where competition for workers is high. As a result, many retailers are starting to look outside of the standard recruiting avenues. Others are finding ways to add incentives to create a more desirable place to work.

To help retailers as they recruit and hire new employees, NHPA compiled a bundle of hiring resources, including examples from what other retailers have done, best practices and marketing tools. All of these resources are available in one downloadable file here.

Available Tools

Recruiting business cards. Have you ever spotted an employee working somewhere else who could be a great fit for your business? Hand them a business card and let them know you’d love to interview them for a job if they’re interested. NHPA has created templates of cards and stickers with recruiting messages for you to use.

Employee incentives. Even small incentives can go a long way toward making your business a more desirable place to work. Browse the list and see what other retailers are doing to retain quality employees once they find them.

Where to find quality employees. Many retailers are going beyond posting on hiring platforms to more proactive recruiting strategies. NHPA has created a list of more than a dozen places you could be looking for your next hire.

Job description templates. Part of the hiring process should be clearly defining the expectations and responsibilities of a new employee. Customize NHPA’s collection of job description templates to fit the unique needs of your company. Create one for each employee on your team.
