Home Depot Joins Forces With Walmart to Offer Delivery Services

The Home Depot has teamed up with Walmart to expand its same-day and next-day delivery services. The home improvement company is the first retail client of Walmart GoLocal, a network that delivers products for businesses of all sizes. Through Walmart GoLocal, more Home Depot customers can receive same-day or next-day delivery on a variety of home improvement products.

“The Home Depot is continuously working to give customers the most convenient shopping experience in home improvement, and that includes providing a wide range of fast and reliable delivery options,” says Stephanie Smith, senior vice president of supply chain for The Home Depot. “This partnership brings us even closer to our goal of offering same day or next day delivery to 90 percent of the U.S. population.”

Starting in the coming weeks, Home Depot customers in select areas can utilize the GoLocal services, with the program slated to expand to multiple markets by the end of 2021. Customers shopping on HomeDepot.com will be able to see what products qualify for Walmart GoLocal delivery services, either same-day or next-day.

“We’re honored to work with The Home Depot in our shared goal of making fast and reliable local delivery available in every community we serve, including rural and suburban areas, where we both have a strong retail presence,” says John Furner, president and CEO, Walmart U.S. “We’re excited to welcome The Home Depot as Walmart GoLocal’s first retail client and look forward to helping power their local delivery efforts.”

The company hopes that new service will continue to boost sales for the big box retailer. Home Depot posted record-setting sales in the second quarter of 2021, recording $41.1 billion in total sales during that time period.
