United Hardware Distributing Co. is pleased to announce the appointment of two new board members: Dan Stroinski, store owner of D&J Farm & Home and Mike Wilmes, store owner of two Wilmes Hardware stores. United Hardware is also pleased with the re-election of Megan Zarbano, store owner of Handy Home & Hardware.

The board of directors is comprised of seven member-owners committed to supporting United Hardware’s mission, vision, corporate goals, strategies, and company initiatives. The company says channeling Dan, Mike and Megan’s talent, industry expertise and energy will help further its mission.

Dan Stroinski owns and operates D&J Farm & Home located in Thorp, Wisconsin. Dan, born and raised in Thorp, has a strong retail industry background, and has executed proven business growth. After going through two building expansions and adding additional categories to assist in his growth, he continues to look out for the best interest of his community and offers a variety of products and categories. Dan serves on the Tools and Automotive UDAC committees and has expressed his excitement to give back to a cooperative that has given so much to his store.

Mike Wilmes operates two Wilmes Hardware stores in Sioux City, Iowa and South Sioux City, Nebraska. Mike has been in the hardware businesses his entire life. Wilmes Hardware has focused on customer service to keep loyal, returning customers. Mike says United Hardware has brought value to his operation through United’s vendor partners and programs.  As Mike reviews categories and products, he is always looking for ways to stay relevant in his community. Mike has expressed his passion to collaborate with fellow board members to ensure United Hardware remains relevant for stores to better serve their communities.

Megan Zarbano is the owner and operator of Handy Home and Hardware in Valley City, North Dakota. Mentored at a young age, Megan learned hardware retail and continues to find ways to strengthen her core categories and niche opportunities. Megan’s store has gone through two expansions and resets, expanding on categories to help fill the voids in the community. She was previously honored as a NHPA Young Retailer of the Year award in the under $2 million sales volume category. Megan is returning to the board of directors after serving for the last 3 years.
