Blish-Mize to Host Virtual Fall Market

Blish-Mize has announced that its upcoming fall market will convert into a virtual event. This unique market will be available exclusively online from Sept. 17-28, 2020. The event promises the best buying opportunities of the year from the nation’s top vendors.

“We would rather see our customers face-to-face and shake hands like the good old days, but that just isn’t possible at this time,” says Jonathan Mize, CEO and president of Blish-Mize Co. “There are too many unknowns right now to move forward with an in-person show. We thought it was best to adjust for this market out of an abundance of caution for our most valuable assets—our customers, vendors and employees. We know that in the spring, our 150th anniversary as a company, things will be back to in-person business as we’ve done it for a century and a half.”

Blish-Mize hosted a successful virtual event in the spring with very little notice and plans to build on that format for the fall event. Giving customers and vendors ample time to plan will ensure the smoothest online market experience in September.

The Virtual Market will offer exceptional buying opportunities, including the same popular events held at the in-person market. The online event will also feature information and presentations from current vendors, including Hardware House, as well as educational training sessions from the North American Retail Hardware Association and more.

Sarah Lee, the new vice president of purchasing for the company, says that the vendors’ continued partnership is instrumental in pulling off virtual events.

“The success and safety of our vendors and customers has never been more important to us. We will continue to work with our vendors to deliver the best programs and pricing to our customers by utilizing vendor knowledge of not only their products, but also our customers—to provide the best offerings and experience for all involved.”

Mize relays the company’s dedication to its customers now and always.

“We have continued to service our customers almost seamlessly through this challenging time. Despite product shortages and supply line issues, we have done our best to provide outstanding customer service and support.”

In 2021, Blish-Mize will celebrate its 150th year in business and will host its spring market at the Overland Park Convention Center on March 18-20, 2021.
