When’s the last time you surveyed your peers to discover the areas where they are finding success and what areas they’re predicting for growth in 2020? You probably haven’t done that recently, but the North American Retail Hardware Association (NRHA) did. And we’re excited to share the results of those surveys with attendees at the fifth annual State of Independents Conference (SOIC) in Indianapolis on Dec. 5.
This year, NRHA is exploring the trends that are occurring throughout retail: technology; changing consumer demographics; and succession planning.
Check out the following reasons why you should register for this eye-opening event today, then head to nrha.org/soic to reserve your seat.
1. Your business depends on it.
NRHA keeps a pulse on the industry, and this conference gives a chance for everyone to hear those beats. Join your peers and other channel partners for critical industry updates.
2. The takeaways are scalable.
From rural single-store businesses to multistore tech-focused operations in city centers, the presenters and panelists have operations tips to fit every business type.
3. Space is limited.
This year’s event is going to be packed with retail presentations, panel discussions and the latest data. But you need to act fast because we’re expecting to max out the attendance list soon.
Meet Some of the Speakers
Matt Woods, owner of Woods Hardware in Cincinnati will speak alongside Eric Hassett (not pictured) of Hassett Ace Hardware in California. The two tech-focused retailers will discuss how they have prioritized implementing technology in their operations as a way to differentiate in their specific markets, improve employee efficiency and compete against big boxes.
Matthew Mazzone of Mazzone Ace Hardware will also be speaking at the 2019 State of Independents Conference. Mazzone Ace Hardware started out in an all-Italian community in New York, but now serves a customer base of every culture and language. Mazzone will discuss the ethnic evolution of his community and the importance of changing the way a store operates to serve changing and extremely diverse customer demographics. Intentionally hiring a variety of people who reflect the community’s demograhpic and relying on multilingual employees are part of his approach to serving a New York microcosm of the world.
