True Value Appoints Chief Merchandising Officer

Heath AshenfelterTrue Value Company has announced the promotion of Heath Ashenfelter to the position of vice president, chief merchandising officer.

Previously, Ashenfelter served as divisional vice president of merchandising. In his new role, Ashenfelter will play a key role in creating experiences that best serve customers and differentiate True Value from its competition, according to the company.

He will serve as a member of the senior leadership team, reporting to True Value president and CEO John Hartmann.

“It gives me great pleasure to fill this critical position from within our organization,” Hartmann says.

Ashenfelter joined True Value in 2011 and has served in roles with increasing responsibility, such as global product merchant and divisional vice president.

Prior to joining True Value, Ashenfelter was a national sales manager at Ellsworth Adhesives. Previously, he spent 10 years at The Scotts Company, where he worked with major hardware, home improvement, mass market, grocery and drug retailers to drive significant sales increases year over year.
