When Warm Weather Arrives, Try These Promotions

Spring will be here before you know it, and it’s time to start thinking ahead for some promotions you can try in your store once the warm weather arrives.

  • Get Out the Grill. It’s time to start grilling. Let your customers know that you carry all the grills and accessories they’ll need for their cookouts. Team up with a chef at a local restaurant to offer demonstrations of a few meals you can try. Set up a small group of grills (maybe four or five) in your parking lot and provide the hot dogs and hamburgers for your customers to grill. Letting customers try the grill or see it in use is one of the best ways for them to compare two different products, or discover firsthand the different features they offer.
  • Batter Up! Opening Day will be here soon, and baseball season will be in full swing after that. There are plenty of ways to utilize the baseball season to promote your store: sponsor a Little League team, invite the team to have a pizza party in your store, or raffle off tickets to a local minor or major league game (if you have a team in town or nearby), just to name a few.
  • Don’t Forget About Spot. The weather’s nice, and people are ready to spend more time outside with their dogs, or maybe add to the family with a new pet. Team up with the local humane society to host a pet adoption event, and use that time to showcase the products in your pet department. Consider inviting a couple of pet pros, such as groomers or trainers, to offer their services at the event.
