In-Store Experiences Are Still Relevant

More than ever, consumers are looking to brick-and-mortar stores for an experience that helps them validate their final purchasing decisions, despite their extensive online retail options.

TimeTrade, an online appointment scheduling software company, recently conducted a survey of 1,029 consumers to gather information on their retail shopping perceptions and behaviors. Respondents expressed that they want the help from knowledgeable and friendly staff that independent businesses are known for, but that is not enough for them.

Quick Facts:

1. About 65 percent of respondents say that if an item is available online and at a nearby store, they prefer to shop in the store.

2. More than 70 percent of respondents prefer to shop at Amazon’s physical store versus Amazon.com.

3. About 90 percent of respondents were more likely to make a purchase when helped by a knowledgeable associate.
