Réno-Dépôt Takes a New Direction

RONA Inc., Canada’s leading retailer and distributor of hardware, home renovation and gardening products, announced the repositioning of its Réno-Dépôt brand that includes a new store concept. The stores’ new look is part of RONA’s overall recovery strategy.

“The Réno-Dépôt repositioning marks a pivotal point in the RONA relaunch,” says RONA President and Chief Executive Officer Robert Sawyer. “We have revised our entire marketing strategy to better meet the needs of our customers, which include professionals and contractors as well as expert and novice home renovators.”

The first of the new concept stores is located in Saint-Hubert, Quebec, and exemplifies the brand’s repositioning. Included are new product offerings, improved signage, more staff and faster service. A revised procurement policy will increase inventory levels to ensure popular products are always in stock.

“We want to create a real difference in the retail industry and offer the customer a memorable experience that is primarily based on outstanding customer service,” says Mario St-Louis, vice president of operations for Réno-Dépôt. “The way products are now arranged in the store, with easier access, will allow our employees to spend more time advising customers.”

The Saint-Hubert store is the first of the 16 Réno-Dépôt stores to be remodeled under the new concept. RONA estimates that all stores will be revamped by late this year.
