Ace LED Clamp Light Recalled

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published a recall of Ace Hardware’s Ace Clamp-On LED Work Lights due to a potential electric shock and fire hazard. According to the CPSC report, the cord bushing inside the light base could fail, allowing the cord wiring to pull out of the base, exposing bare wire and presenting a shock and fire hazard. No injuries were reported. This product sold new from September 2013 to December 2013. About 15,000 units of the product, which has a silver plastic lamp head with black rubber sides and eight LED lights on one side, are involved in this Ace Hardware work light recall. The recalled units are stamped with the model number “DC004” and date code “08/13” on the back of the light base. The CPSC urges consumers to return the product immediately to a local Ace store for a full refund.
