Consumer expectations have shifted over the last several years, and a comprehensive online experience is now an expectation for retail. Services like buy online, pickup in store or curbside pickup and access to real-time inventory in mobile apps are increasingly becoming standard services.
To assess how these shifts are impacting the independent home improvement channel, the North American Hardware and Paint Association (NHPA) has launched the 2024 Independent Home Improvement E-Commerce Survey. In this survey, NHPA asks retailers to share their approaches to e-commerce and overall digital presence.
Retailers from across the industry, regardless of their online or e-commerce presence, are encouraged to participate in the survey.
“The more retailers who participate in this survey, the more valuable the final data is. The goal of this project is to establish an industry baseline for what retailers are doing online and where the opportunities are,” says Melanie Moul, NHPA research and enterprise content manager. “The data we collect will allow the independent channel as a whole to determine what the next steps are.”
NHPA anticipates releasing the final data in a comprehensive report by mid-summer.
