Students from the NRHA Retail Management Certification Program’s Fall 2015 session are speaking up about why they find the program so valuable to their careers and the businesses they work for.

What is your favorite part about the NRHA Retail Management Certification Program?
“The people. Alongside the great instructors, the participants are far above average. Everyone in attendance is a progressive, well-respected individual from within each participating company. The sense of community was instantaneous. Regardless of size, location, or tenure, everyone is in full support of one another.”
Jonathan Miller, Miller Hardware Company, Georgia
What’s one thing you’ve learned through the course or from a fellow student that you want to implement in your business?
“There are so many fantastic ideas being shared in this group, and there are many that I plan to take back and implement in the store. So far from the instruction, it is the overall idea that I have a more balanced knowledge of the business in general. We are working on some pricing changes for my Business Improvement Project, but I plan to clearly define a price-matching policy for the store based on group discussion.”
Alyssa Tolzda, Modern Home and Hardware, Ohio
What would you say to someone who is thinking about participating in a future class?
“If you are coming into one of your first management experiences, or your first leadership position in a retail or building materials industry business, this course is a great way to speed you along the steep growth curve.”
Lee Wilson, HPM Building Supply, Hawaii
