Nation’s Best Holdings, LLC hosted its inaugural Golf Tournament last week, raising $260,000 to support the mission of Arrivederci ALD and find a cure for the debilitating disease.
ALD, or adrenoleukodystrophy, is a rare genetic condition that can cause severe disability and even death. Frani Broussard Denenburg started the nonprofit Arrivederci ALD after she and five of her immediate family members were diagnosed with ALD in 2018. They are dedicated to finding a cure for ALD by raising funds to support ongoing research by Harvard and Stanford physicians. Nation’s Best began its partnership with Arrivederci ALD in 2021 when the home improvement retailer began offering its customers the opportunity to round up their purchase to the nearest whole dollar.
The inaugural Golf Tournament was held at the Cowboys Golf Course in Dallas and hosted more than 140 golfers representing vendor partners, customers and associates. Following the tournament, Frani Broussard Denenburg, Dr. Florian Eichler of Massachusetts General Hospital and Dr. Keith van Haren of Stanford Children’s Health spoke to the group to raise awareness about ALD. Nation’s Best concluded the evening by presenting Arrivederci ALD a check for $260,000 representing money raised from the round up initiative and golf outing.
“I couldn’t be more grateful for the incredible success of our first tournament,” says Chris Miller, president and CEO of Nation’s Best Holdings, LLC. “I want to thank all the associates, vendor partners and especially our generous customers who chose to round up. Together, they made today possible. I can’t wait to see where we take this in the future and how we can make a change in the lives of all who are affected by ALD.”
Nation’s Best extends special thanks to title sponsors DW Distribution, Quality Wholesale, Yellawood and Azek Building Materials, as well as the 28 other sponsors who made the inaugural Golf Tournament so successful.
