Lowe’s Canada Grows, Names New VP

Lowe’s Canada, the Toronto-based division of Lowe’s Companies Inc., recently named Gregor Stuart vice president for supply chain.

Stuart is joining a team that is looking to expand the big-box retailer’s presence in Canada. He comes to Lowe’s with more than 25 years of logistics and supply chain experience in the retail industry.

The big box retailer is focusing on growth and expanding its footprint in the country by adding a a new distribution center and increasing its store count from 40 to 54, according to The Wall Street Journal. Twelve of the new stores will be located in former Target Canada locations.

Gregor will be responsible for overseeing the supply chain function and distribution center, according to Lowe’s Canada. In November, the company will be transitioning to a new 1.3 million-square-foot distribution facility in Milton, Ontario.

“I am thrilled to have Gregor join our talented group of seasoned leaders at Lowe’s Canada,” company president Sylvain Prud‘homme says. “His vast experience leading supply chain and logistics in top Canadian retail organizations will be critical to our ongoing success as we enhance our capacity to meet the expectations of our growing business.”
