At the House-Hasson Hardware 2019 summer dealer market, hardware retailers and manufacturers from across the country gathered to find new opportunities to succeed in the months ahead.
The market was held in Sevierville, Tennessee, and House-Hasson executives say the event set a new sales record for the 113-year-old company.
“Typically, our Nashville market is the largest of the three we hold each year,” says Steve Henry, the company’s executive vice president. “This year’s summer market outdistanced every other market in the company’s history; it’s phenomenal.”
This year’s market achieved a nearly 20 percent sales increase over the 2018 summer market, House-Hasson president Don Hasson says.
“We have new salespeople working new territories and the results are more dealers at our market,” Hasson said. “Increased territory, salespeople, and dealers helps to achieve sales growth generally. The point is to achieve growth strategically in a way that best serves your customers and your company.”
In March, the company announced the purchase of $2.5 million in inventory from Hardware Distribution Warehouse, which ceased operations in January. The company is increasing the size of its Knoxville warehouse by 100,000 square feet to accommodate the new inventory.
House-Hasson serves some 2,500 dealers in 23 states and the Caribbean Basin. House-Hasson’s next dealer market is scheduled Oct. 24 -26 at the Sevierville Event Center.
