Tesla Ending Home Depot Partnership at Year-End

Tesla will cease selling its solar products at Home Depot by the end of the year, ending a brief retail partnership.

Tesla began selling solar panels and batteries in Home Depot early this year, planning to create dedicated space for the products in 800 of the home improvement stores, Bloomberg reported Feb. 1.

The electric car manufacturer announced that it was pulling out of Home Depot stores at the same time as it is cutting jobs and undergoing a company wide reorganization, according to a recent article from Bloomberg.

The company had put employees in various Home Depot stores to explain the manufacturer’s solar products, but many of its home improvement store workers  “will be offered the opportunity to move over to Tesla’s retail locations,” Bloomberg says.

A Home Depot spokesman tells Bloomberg that the home improvement retailer still “plans to continue offering solar options to our customers.”
