Craftsman products will be available in Lowe’s stores and on the retailer’s website in the second half of 2018, the big-box home improvement retailer reports.
“With the introduction of Craftsman, customers will have access to some of the highest quality, innovative and value-oriented products in the industry for their next home improvement project,” Lowe’s says in the press release.
Earlier this year, Sears sold the Craftsman brand to Stanley Black & Decker in a $900 million deal as a cost-cutting measure for the struggling department store chain. The tool brand was previously only available in Sears, Sears Hometown, Kmart, Ace and Orchard Supply stores, but Stanley’s purchase of the brand allowed it to expand sales outside those avenues. Lowe’s purchased Orchard Supply in 2013 to save the chain from bankruptcy.
The tool brand has also been available at Ace Hardware stores since Sears Holdings entered into an agreement with the co-op in 2010, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Lowe’s says the tool brand will be available in Lowe’s stores in the U.S. and Canada. The retailer operates more than 2,370 retail stores in the U.S., Canada and Mexico and is headquartered in Mooresville, North Carolina.
