As more consumers are shopping and making purchases online, Amazon, one of the largest e-commerce retailers, has added a new variety of workers to the mix: robots.
The retailer is boosting efficiency in warehouses with the help of more than 15,000 wheeled robots, according to an article by The Associated Press. The robots move across the floors of large warehouses, delivering stacks of toys, books and other products to employees.

At one of the locations, 1,500 employees work along with 3,000 robots in the warehouse. The article adds, “the robots navigate by scanning coded stickers on the floor, following digital commands that are beamed wirelessly from a central computer.”
